Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation (RNDC) has initiated a new development in central Covington, Louisiana. New Covington / The Groves at Mile Branch Creek is a planned community on a previously undeveloped site that will provide 94 mixed-income rental units and 35 single family homes for purchase by first-time homebuyers.
Description:
The site is approximately 15 acres, and located very near the downtown of Covington. It is immediately adjacent to a modest single family residential neighborhood in transition. Other adjacent uses include a new St. Tammany Sheriff’s facility to the north, and an elemental school to the west. The existing site is largely wooded. A level one environmental report has been completed.
Status:
Infrastructure construction is scheduled to begin April 1, 2010. Rental housing is expected to begin construction in October 2010 and be completed by October 2011.
