Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation
Formed in 2006, Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation (RNDC) is a collaboration between Volunteers of America National Services and Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana. This partnership fully leverages Volunteers of America National Services’ vast housing experience and its ability to secure funding through its financial strength and national relationships, together with Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana's ability to select appropriate sites, conceptualize developments, create and maintain appropriate local relationships, and manage the development team for the implementation of selected projects. In 2012, the Board approved expanding RNDC’s efforts throughout Louisiana, working in collaboration with Volunteers of America North Louisiana.
At its core, RNDC strives for and achieves the highest quality of design for affordable housing projects in urban neighborhoods that will provide a safe, comfortable and uplifting environment for the residents we serve. We believe each project has its own opportunity to create a special living experience not found in the typical market for affordable or even market-rate housing.
RNDC is committed to serving working households at all income levels in key service sectors, such as hospitality, education, medical, police, fire, office and retail. RNDC has been working in emerging neighborhoods to create developments that are proximate to jobs and employment opportunities, have good access to basic commercial services, are well-served by public transportation, embody energy efficient design strategies, and promote occupant health through the selection of green materials and systems, as well as construction and maintenance practices.
In 2014 the Board authorized RNDC to establish a Property Management arm to provide management services to RNDC and affiliated properties. Most recently RNDC formed a for-profit subsidiary, Millennium Properties Inc., to develop market rate projects.
Since its inception, RNDC has completed/acquired six major residential and mixed-use projects and has two in its immediate pipeline, totaling more than $100 million in development financing.
